Leaving on a jet plane…
Tomorrow we leave! It’s hard to believe that this time has come. It’s been an emotional roller coaster packing, preparing, celebrating and saying goodbye. Thank you for all of the prayers especially for our children and the grandparents saying goodbye!
We will continue to keep our blog up and running while we are away. My goal is to post weekly. Remember that you don’t ever have to miss a post, but they can be delivered right to your email address. In the top right corner of the page is the word FOLLOW. Add your email address there and you won’t miss a thing.
We leave tomorrow afternoon wetravel to Dullus. We will leave from there at 8:45 and travel to London. This is about a 7 hour flight but we will arrive at 9:00 in the morning their time. We have a three hour layover and back on the plane to Entebbee which is another 8 hour flight. We will arrive in Entebbee, Uganda late in the evening and will stay in a hotel. The next morning we have about a three hour drive to Jinja, where we will be residing for the next three months.
One of the things that I would like to add to our blog is specific prayer requests. I was asked to make a prayer calendar, but I just don’t know what all the future will hold. I figured the best way to do it was to add prayer requests weekly.
So this week, please pray for our children who have never been on an airplane. Noah is quite scared of being so high in the air. Play that we will rest well on the overnight flight and that we will keep them entertained with grace. Pray for our safety as we travel and that all of our luggage arrives in time.
For our first week, pray for our transition to living in a different time zone, with new people, in a new home and new culture. Pray for our children as they experience culture shock and see real poverty like they have never known. Pray that we as a family will be able to process things together.
Pray for Terry and Debbie Nester, our missionary hosts, who are also leaving their children and grandchildren. Who are coming home after three months with 6 new houseguests. (All the women gasp here) Pray for them as they seek to love us through this transition.
Thank you so much for joining us on this journey and for praying for us! We are in awe of the God “who is able to do immeasurably more than we could think or ask.” Ephesians 3:20
My next post will be written from UGANDA!!!!!!
